Monsoon arrivals: who showed up in the pots this year
The first proper storm came in the second week of October, and by the end of the month the chilli pots looked like a seed bank had exploded over them.
The usual crowd: spurge in every crack, a carpet of tiny oxalis, and one ambitious pigeon pea that must have come in with the bird feeder mix. New this year was a single shy morning glory, which I have decided to keep for as long as it behaves.
The rule on this balcony is simple: if it flowers before I notice it, it stays until the end of the season.
